This 9 foot artificial tree glistens in my master bedroom. First, approximately 900 white lights were wrapped down the branches. Then I placed a dozen large angels around the tree, filled in to the back of the branches with clear glass globes and placed several dozen blown glass ornaments near the tips so their details could easily be seen. A collection of brass ornaments add a bit of gold amongst the clear glass ornaments and frosted icicles drip from select branch tips. A dozen green, silver and gold picks were placed above each large angel and finally a pearl garland was strung around the tree and through each angels’ hands. A second garland of wired, two-sided ivory and gold ribbon was twisted and draped around the tree as the final touch.

Dining Room Tree

A slim 7 1/2 foot artificial tree is just the right size for a corner in the dining area. White lights kicked off the decorating, then I added 9 medium-large orangey-bronze globes and finally placed about 3 dozen matte and shiny brown globes along the branches from tip to trunk of the tree. Small orange/bronze beaded drops adorn branch tips. Next, a long swath of bronze sheer fabric was wound and stuffed through the branches as a garland. I wrapped gold berry branch stems together to form the tree topper and poked berry stems into the tree branches sparingly for added dimension. A dozen butterflies were set in flight on long slim wire anchored to a branch tip and finally 8 large poinsettia blossoms were clipped to branch tips.

Living Room Tree

My husband and I tromped into the national forest (with our permit and saw in hand!), cut down, carried out, trucked home and then installed this whopping 15 foot Ponderosa Pine in our living room. It was no small task! Luckily the forest trail was icy and snowy so we could pull the tree along it instead of carrying it all the way to our truck. Once home, a 12 foot ladder was barely tall enough to enable my 6 foot husband to get the star on the top and the multi-colored lights around the top portion of the tree. We placed large 8″ globe ornaments first and then followed with dozens and dozens and dozens of medium to small ornaments. A Ponderosa has very long needles and the inside of the tree is mostly branches so it was especially important to hang ornaments throughout the “inside” of the tree. Wired ribbon circles the tree and long wired streamers curl from the top to the bottom branches.
