A hot trend right now is the use of wall decals. That’s right, no measuring, taping and painting. No worries that your paint is going to bleed under the tape and make a mess. And of course the best part about a hot trend is that there are lots of options available. Wall decals come big enough to make a design statement, or small enough to be a token accessory. Made of vinyl, they go up pretty much as you’d expect – sticky side to the clean surface and rub out the air pockets (simplified instructions of course!). They give the look of a stencil, but on a bigger scale and with less work.

As you can see there are numerous styles from serious to whimsical. They are versatile – these pictures show some great ideas, but how about a decal on your glass shower door, a patio door, on old vanity tile to dress it up, on the side of your trash can for extra style points, on kitchen cabinet fronts to update them quickly, on furniture or flooring (in a less used walk area). They are equally at home to improve a commercial space – a doctor’s office, a bank hallway, etc. Amazon has lots of decals including precut quotes which certainly beats trying to stencil or paint the words. Also, both Artstick and Wall Glamour have pretty extensive catalogs filled with great decals, most for around $50.
