Here’s What You Told Us
Readership: Your Decorating Hotline is only a year old (you recently helped us celebrate our anniversary!) and we’re rapidly growing with readership on the rise each week. The survey supports this, with just under 1/3 of the respondents reading YDH for less than a month, the same number of respondents reading us for up to three months and just over 36% reading us from 3 to 12 months. We hope you’ll stay with us and share the YDH link with friends and family! Our goal is to continue to grow our community.
Content: We were pleased to learn you like most all of the content offered on Your Decorating Hotline. The topics receiving the most votes were: “general decorating information” with 61.7%; followed by “designer tips” at 57.4%; “color” at 55.3%, “accessorizing” at 51.1%; “room arrangement” at 48.9%; “how-to’s/DIY” and “reader questions and the solutions” both at 46.8%. Respondents were obviously able to select more than one answer.
Difficult Home Decorating: Based on survey responses, it seems most of you find “accessorizing” the most difficult home decorating task with 47.7% selecting it; followed by “furniture arrangement” at 43.2%; “color” at 31.8%; the “living/family room” at 27.3%; and “window coverings” at 20.5%.

Asked YDH for Help: Almost 28% of you have asked Your Decorating Hotline for help and 8.5% have thought about it but didn’t ask yet for various reasons.
Type of Decorating Help Interested In Receiving : When we asked what type of decorating help you might be interested in receiving from Your Decorating Hotline you answered: “an inspiration board”-52.5%; “furniture arrangement” - 50%; 45.7% might be interested in help with “accessory selection”; while 41.3% found “color” help appealing.

Personal Color Selection: Just over 50% of you were interested in personal color selection on a professional basis.
Professional Design Package: 63% of you indicated an interest in a professional design package personalized for you.
Expanded Professional Design Package: 58% of you indicated an interest in an expanded professional design package personalized for you.
Rooms Needing Professional Help: a whopping 70.7% of you responded that you would be most likely to seek professional decorating assistance for your living room, with the family room coming in second at 41.5%, the kitchen following at 34.1% and the master bedroom and an outdoor room both claiming 22%.
