I love bringing nature indoors – so accessible and so inexpensive! Fresh and the colors in nature seem to compliment just about any decor.
I have some pressed leaves that I have had for several years and the colors are still brilliant – I love them so that I have left them out year round, just laying on a book shelf.
One year I had a tray that displayed moss & lichens – each time I took a walk, I looked for interesting shades and shapes and added them to the tray. The pieces were beautiful shades of gray/green/blues and some were attached to interesting twigs and small branches. They finally faded. Today’s post inspires me to start another collection!
More and more, a daily walk is being recommended for all kinds of health reasons – did you know a daily 30 minute walk can help prevent cancer? A daily walk in a wooded area is even more healthful due to breathing the essential oils given off by the trees! So, maybe combining a daily healthful walk with the added motivation of looking for beautiful things to enhance our indoor experience can be a good thing all the way around!
What a great idea! Exercise, home decor and health benefits all in one – what more could we ask? Since I just moved back to the NW, I’ll have to make it a point to get out and explore the neighborhood, parks etc soon.

Hi Terrie,
Love the Vern Yip design and the branch with the pinecones. Just tweaking something so it will go from Thanksgiving, Christmas, through winter is my kind of decorating! Really nice ideas
