Today I’m trying something new. I found a “party” over at ComfortAndLuxury blog and decided to participate. The idea is that she chose 2 chairs from Anthropologie and whomever wants to play can make a mood “inspiration” board around one of the chairs. Here are the 2 chairs:
They are both really fun and colorful….normally I’d choose the oversize paisley, so decided to go against my usual and try the somewhat tamer chair. I love the lines of it and I’m always a fan of stripes. This morning I quickly visited some of my fave online retail shops and put together this board.
I designed a quick guest room complete with day bed (love the circles!), a small writing desk and some display options. The background color represents wall paint. I picked the rug because it reinforces the circles on the daybed and is a good contrast of pattern to the stripes. Ditto the Candace Olson lamp – the base is covered in circles. Here’s where I found the goodies, moving clockwise from the candleholders:
Sassolino Pillar Holder – Z Gallerie
Circle Cutout Daybed – West Elm
Hudson table lamp – Candice Olson, AF Lighting
Jay Desk – West Elm
Bridget rug – Pottery Barn
Papillon & Flower toss pillows – bonujourmoncoussin.com
Anthropologie chair
Stacked stool – Design Within Reach
Tripod lamp – Design Within Reach
Stackes of Space shelves – Wisteria
This is a fun game. If you want to try your hand at it but don’t have Photoshop or similar art program, try polyvore.com for a free do-it-yourself site. Visit Comfort and Luxury today and see some of the other boards – there’s a bedroom, dining room and more!

What a great design. Loving the daybed you selected from West Elm.

I’m new to your blog – nice to meet you! Great job on the mood board…it’s the first I’ve seen with the striped inspiration chair. I love the day bed and desk. Great choices!
I like the way the rug works with the chair and that daybed is great!
Thanks for playing, Terrie!
What a creative, eclectic mix of styles and patterns! Love the daybed and desk with the chair and how they work to anchor all the other pieces.
