What Could be More Fun Than Giveaways? ….SPRING!

I heard on the news a couple days ago that spring hit Colorado hard.  So much wet snow fell that it wasn’t possible to get up to the ski areas!  Officially it’s SPRING, though Mother Nature doesn’t appear to be totally on board yet.  In lieu of a “what I did on my summer vacation” essay, I’m submitting a photo essay – “What Spring Is to Me”.  What’s your favorite signs of spring?

Spring is tulips – and hyacinths, rhododendrons and hydrangeas, pussy willow and cherry blossoms.

Spring is outdoor walks – enjoying the renewal of green and being outside in the fresh air (without a coat!).  Spring in the desert means Joshua trees are actually showing some green instead of shades of brown.

Spring is rainy days (my shout out to Seattleites)  – rain brings all that lush green, so it’s hard to complain.

Spring is flowering branches brought inside – cherry blossoms, forsythia, crab apple, quince, magnolia, lilac.  Prune your shrubs and bring those lovely cut branches inside to enjoy.  Cut them early and force the blooms for an earlier “spring fix”.

Dainty orchids displayed in the Woven Nest Bowl from Pottery Barn is a simple way to bring the feeling of spring into your home.  You could also find (or make) containers with a floral motif and fill with flowering branches (silk or real) then sit back and dream of warmer days.
