In the issue of Color Made Easy of 2009 I saw a bathroom that I want to duplicate, Dove and Silver but I can’t find the Silver Mist by Benjamin Moore. I was wondering if it is a mixed color. Also I want to stain my cabinets the same brown as in the picture. I think that it would look really nice in my second bathroom. What color stain is it? I also see that there are 3 different colors there. I was wondering where does the waters edge play into it? My floors and tile are a blue gray marble style tile and the Silver Mist would work really great in there. How do I go about staining the cabinetry? They are white. I saw the pics on the bedroom but nothing more on how to pull it all together. Thank-you, Mary
Mary – it’s tough to answer your questions since I don’t have that photograph. Silver Mist is a Benjamin Moore color, #1619 and should be available at any Benjamin Moore outlet. Unfortunately I can’t help with the stain color since I haven’t seen the picture. As for staining your cabinets – if they are painted white, you’ll need to do some sanding and prep work to get the wood ready for the stain. I’d recommend talking to your local home improvement store folks and get help with the right products and techniques before you get started. If it’s too much work to sand and stain, you may be able to find a rich brown paint that will accomplish the same look and be a little easier.
Good luck with your project. If you have any more specific questions, let us know.
Love the hot pink chair against the gorgeous black and white wallpaper. Went to the photographer’s site (www.brandonbarre.com) and he has several more really dramatic black and white w/ bold color spaces for inspiration.
