Hubby and I took a few days off last week and went to Scottsdale/Phoenix.  We stayed at a great timeshare condo, visited old Scottsdale and wandered the galleries (no pictures please), took a drive to the arboretum east of town, visited “ghost town” and artist colony Jerome, AZ and generally had a great, relaxing time.

I found the terrain and views so beautiful and dramatic and took tons of pictures.  I came home and matched the photos to a couple of designer quotes – see if you agree.

All these shades of rust and orange look great with a dash of gray-blue.

This delicate cactus flower is only open one day. Aren't the shadings of color amazing?

“The artist (designer) is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place:  from the sky, the earth, a scrap of paper, a passing shape, a spider’s web.”  – Pablo Picasso

Thanks for letting my share my trip photos and the beauty of the southwest.  It’s definitely worth a trip if it’s not your usual part of the country.  You’re sure to go home with a new appreciation of the muted color palettes of the desert.1signature
