You’re ideas are endless. I love it.
Hi, I encourage everyone to keep this website forever. If you like decorating and new ideas this is the place. I love love love visiting all the other sites it suggests as well.
Your post today is just one more example of why I look for your emails first when I open my mail. The continuing series on “Architecture” is so informative and allows me to use new words that I truly understand the meanings! I saved the first one, will save this one and look forward to the last in the series! Thank you again for the service you provide!
I’m with Joanne: what’s the perfect grey?
I love this blog. Lots of great pictures and ideas. I love to see average homes transformed (not mansions) Would like to see ideas for making contemporary homes special (model home-ish)
but not overdone. I loved recently when you talked about being decorating fanatics. I to visit model homes, swoon over decorating magazines, save pictures online and in binders. I love antique stores and resale shops, garage sales, and the occasional roadside discard. I have yet to pose as a potential buyer at an open house, but that sounds like fun. Must be really great to have a friend to share it with.
Cindy and I definitely are fanatics – and our husbands tolerate our passion! Neither of us live in grand homes, but we are just like everyone else and want our homes to be the best they can be. Affordably. So we love sharing our tips and knowledge with everyone. Thanks for reading.
I look forward to reading your post everyday. My biggest problem with it is not wanting to delete anything from my email and trying to decide what to save. Thanks for the education in decorating you have shared with me and so many others. Best wishes, Diane
I love reading your posts every day. I especially like the room design and layouts. I have yet to see a layout like mine as I have a fireplace at one end of the room and the TV at the other. I have created 2 seating areas with the fp or tv as the focal point. It works for us.
Thanks for all you do and don’t stop!
Thank you all for the kind comments and for continuing to read YDH. We love knowing there are loyal readers out there. AND, your names are all entered in the giveaway – keep talking to us over the next couple weeks and you’ll have more chances to win.
Your blog is one if the first ones I go to everyday! You always have such great ideas and I really appreciate how you show examples so we can see how it is applied to the subject you are writing about. I have really started to think about color lately and trying to figure out how to apply it to the outside of my home as well as the inside. I hope to see more ideas on how to apply colors outdoors with shutters and front doors. Keep up the wonderful work you are both doing and I will look forward to the next design tip you have.
This blog just gets my “creative juices” flowing! franki
I love to read your blog and i was lucky to have you answer a decorating dilemma for me regarding my dining room. BUT I was wondering about something….I read something and think, I love that, I want to try it and NEVER do! Never!! Does anyone else do that? Am I a closet decorator who only decorates in my mind but is afraid to act on it? Is there a 12 step program for me? I mean, the first step is admitting you have a problem and I am publicly declaring my weakness here!
Hello, my name is Mary and I am afraid to decorate!
(now you say, Hello, Mary)
Mary – I do that a lot…decorate in my mind! It’s very cost efficient. I have binders full of ideas that I’ll try “someday”. We all do what we can, when we can, but in the meantime enjoy the fantasizing.
I have been reading Terrie and Cindy’s blog for a couple of years and I can’t say it enough how much it is has helped us transform our home. They are always there to help to give great ideas and suggestions. They have been there to help with a few specific projects in our home and I am loving the ideas they gave me! They sure do open your mind to a whole different perspective when trying to come up with a decorating scheme! Thank you for all that you do!!!
I’ve been so tempted to write you and ask for your assistance on furniture arrangement for my odd shaped room. I haven’t because I would have to clear so many boxes out of the way before I even took a picture! Inspiring me to comment (via the contest) has also inspired me to at least take measurements today and send them to you. I love the way you take such difficult decorating problems and transform rooms so easily!
Terrie and Cindy,
Your deluxe design package was just what I needed for my odd shaped room. Your new E-book is chock full of wonderful decorating color essentials and ideas. Thank you for being so generous in sharing your expertise with us on your very friendly and informative blog.
I love this blog. You ladies always seem to have the info I’m looking for, usually before I know I”m looking for it. lol. My biggest decorating dilemma right now is trying to find that perfect grey.
