I love the whole collage of mirrors and want to do the same. I want to mix up styles, finishes, sizes, etc, but I was wondering if it is ok to mix metals (ie.gold and silver) a long with other things. Or should I stick with one metal and mix it up with wood and other textile type finishes. Your advice is appreciated.
Thank you!
Michelle – I think it’s perfectly appropriate to mix metals. It ultimately comes down to how random you like things. If you enjoy a collage feeling when making vingnettes or groupings, mixing metals won’t be a problem. Pick one as the dominant metal and just add in a few of the contrasting one – avoid 50/50. Good luck…it sounds fun!
I love mirrors! I’m always on the lookout for new and unusual ones but I think now I might have too many. I cant wait to start decorating my new home so I can hang them all….or most of them.
Mirrors are marvelous! My large one in the living room reflects the sunroom and just expands everything. I’m placing one with glass shelves in front holding crystal…how’s that for bling! franki
