I’ve been seeing LOTS of faux animal heads and antlers of all shapes, sizes, materials, and colors in rooms from the simple to the elaborate. Apparently they’re the accessory de jour. Trendy and bold or silly and unappealing?
Animal Head or Antler Wall Art
How about a whole herd of antlers?
Are they effective tucked into small spaces to break up the “photo art gallery” look?
Apparently no room is off limit for the skull/antler look.
At least these antlers are high enough no one will impale themselves!
Are You On the Hunt?
Are you on the hunt for the perfect animal head/antler accessory? Do you know someone who has embraced this trendy look? What’s your take – is it cool and whimsical or just disturbing in some way?

I think the antlers are weird and gross, but if they make your heart sing when you see them on your wall, go for it!
I think someone was looking for a new trend to throw into the mix and antlers got the vote! There are rooms where they seem appropriate but I’m not in love with them outside of a hunting lodge theme or maybe an archaeological theme, similar to the way fossils can be used beautifully in the right setting.
It does seem like overkill when looking at page after page, catalog after catalog, magazine after magazine of real or fake antlers/heads (although beautifully displayed) as the latest trendy design emphasis in today’s home. On the other hand, maybe this is classic design since mankind seems to have been displaying this kind of thing for thousands of years
! And why stop with antlers, why not display. . .human skulls and skeletons. . .uh, let’s say maybe once a year on October 31! HeeHee:)
